Vortextor Keyboard — Privacy Policy

Vortextor is a keyboard app made by Maqulus Corporation. Because a keyboard sees what you type, we want to be unusually clear about what this app does and does not do.

What we never collect

Vortextor never logs, stores, or transmits the content of what you type. Your messages, passwords, searches, and personal text stay on your device. The keyboard does not read incoming messages and has no access to them.

What stays on your device

• Your personal dictionary. Words you add (or that the keyboard learns from your typing) are stored only on your device and are used only to improve your own suggestions.
• Autocorrect. All correction and suggestion processing happens on your device.

What we collect

• Feature usage counts. We count how often features are used (for example, how many times the emoji panel is opened). These are counts only and never include what you typed. Collected via Google Firebase Analytics.
• Crash reports. If the app crashes, technical information about the crash (device model, Android version, what the code was doing) is sent via Google Firebase Crashlytics so we can fix it. Crash reports do not include typed content.

Features that use the internet when you use them

• GIF search. When you open the GIF panel, your GIF search terms are sent to GIPHY to fetch results. This is the only time anything you type in the keyboard leaves your device, and it is only the GIF search box, never your messages. See GIPHY's privacy policy for how they handle requests.
• Voice typing. When you tap the microphone and grant permission, audio is processed by your device's speech recognition service (provided by Google or your device maker) to turn speech into text. Vortextor does not record or store audio.

Permissions we request

• Microphone — only for voice typing, only after you grant it, only while you use it.
• Internet — for GIF search, usage counts, and crash reports as described above.

What we don't do

We do not sell your data. We do not show ads. We do not build advertising profiles. We do not share data with third parties beyond the service providers named above (Google Firebase, GIPHY, your device's speech service), each acting on our behalf or at your request.

Children

Vortextor is not directed at children under 13.
